An Affiliate Publisher is an ad-supported publisher that includes affiliate ads into their new media content.

The second player is the affiliate, who has an interest in promoting the merchant’s brand and product in order to earn a commission for those efforts. A business relationship exists between the merchant and the affiliate, where the merchant agrees to compensate the affiliate for his or her efforts, but only if the efforts bring the desired results (like new leads and new sales).
