A Test Variable is a variable whose central tendency measure is to be compared to the hypothesized population parameter.
- Example(s):
- Considering the set of observations that contains weights in males and the null hypothesis: "The mean weight in males is 185". The test variable is weight, the central tendency measure is the mean value and the hypothesized population parameter (test value) is 185.
