A Non-restrictive Appositive is an appositive that is not essential to inferring the meaning of the other noun.
- Context:
- A test is whether the essential meaning of the noun does not change if the appositive is removed.
- It needs to be sorrounded by commas.
- Example(s):
- My only niece, [APPOSITIVE Ann], is engaged to John.
