- The QLQ-C30 is a health-related quality of life questionnaire for European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) that is used to assess the well-being of cancer patients. It includes 30 questions that assess a patient's physical, role, cognitive, emotional, and social functioning. The QLQ-C30 also includes questions about common cancer symptoms such as pain, fatigue, and nausea.
The questionnaire is divided into five functional scales: physical, role, cognitive, emotional, and social, and three symptom scales: fatigue, pain, and nausea/vomiting. It also includes six single items: dyspnea (difficulty breathing), insomnia, appetite loss, constipation, diarrhea, and financial difficulties. Each question has response options ranging from "not at all" to "very much."
The QLQ-C30 is widely used in cancer research and has been translated into numerous languages for use in different countries and cultures. It is considered to be a reliable and valid measure of quality of life in cancer patients.
