An Act of Consumption is a choice act where a consumer interacts with a consumable item to gratify some human need.

- It can be (typically) be preceded by a Decision to Consume (such as a consumable item selection act, e.g. when they agree to purchase).

- It can be an Act of Cultural Production.
- It can be an Act of Destruction.
