An voiced utterance is a linguistic expression (composed of phonemes) delivered through a speech act by a vocal speaker agent.

- It can (typically) require a Transmission Medium (such as air or water).
- It can be bounded by Pauses.
- It can be heard by a Hearer.

- In spoken language analysis an utterance is a smallest unit of speech. It is a continuous piece of speech beginning and ending with a clear pause.
